Gleneagles 2012

Another year and another fabulous trip to Gleneagles. For the weekend before our guests arrived, we had torrential downpours and both the Kings and Queens Courses were shut. However, the PGA Course that is set to host the Ryder Cup in 2014 was still open having recently benefited from US specification sub terrain blowers and moisture extractors under the greens. This is presumably to stop the Celtic Manor Ryder Cup fiasco in the mud and rain of 2010!

Jeremy Waud, Bill Pollard and Paul Wickman hosted for the first half of the week, and were joined by Mark Stupples from Jones Lang LaSalle – who demonstrated his customary culinary sills but little on the golf course!, Gary Yardley from Capital and Counties, Kevin Sensier from Cushman and Wakefield, Gary Hosie from Aspers and John Prestwich who has since joined CBRE rom Cushman and Wakefield.

As you can see from the photos below, this was a nonstop couple of days. At the end of the tour, Kevin Sensier took the spoils of victory with 54 points – even winning Mr Yardley’s complicated book!

The second group of the week was hosted by Martin Reed, Bruce McDonnell and Glenn Wilson – they battled with the rough end of the weeks’ torrential rain and course closures, but managed a round at the neighbouring Auchterarder golf course to complement their challenge over the PGA course at Gleneagles. The team were joined by last year’s winner, Malcolm Angus from JLL, Brian Boundy from Capital Shopping Centres Tony Van Der Vliet from Munroe K and industry friends Chris Windus and Lance Flor.
