ESOS Update

The Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme Regulations 2014 (ESOS) requires large organisations to undertake assessments of their energy usage in buildings, processes and transport by 5th December 2014.

Incentive Carbon ManagementLarge organisations include those with more than 250 employees which will affect over 7,500 organisations in the UK (possibly as high as 10,000) including Incentive FM Group and most of our clients.

The process requires 90% of all energy from buildings, processes and transport to be assessed and for a Lead Assessor,  registered with an approved body, to be appointed to oversee the process.

Our Energy Assessor, Nick Murphy, is a registered Low Carbon Energy Assessor with CIBSE listed as an ESOS Lead Assessor and for the production of Display Energy Certificates (DECs).

We provide help and assistance with ESOS for our clients as well as within the Incentive FM Group. The energy used in our offices in Loman Street and Ware will be included in addition to all the fuel used in vehicles and for business mileage (so, please make sure your travel expenses are up to date). The data from mileage will be converted into an equivalent fuel usage assessment and added to fuel quantities where known. Please note this does not include commuting usage, any public transport or couriers, etc. it is only the fuel used directly for Incentive business.

In addition, we have provided quotations to many of our clients for assisting them in the ESOS process and have been successful in obtaining contracts from Colgate Palmolive, The Nottingham Building Society, Aspers Casinos and Renaissance Care in Scotland.

We are active in promoting our services via social media feeds, particularly Twitter and see this as an element of added value to the service we offer our clients.
